State fish slayyaaa
Brook Trout are my current state fish (NJ) and my previous state fish (NY)!
I caught this little guy in *trout* brook (heehee)
His colors are stunning ❤️ Brook trout need cold and fresh running water. Trout are very sensitive and at risk for negative impact when out of the water for too long. That's why we let this little guy breathe even between these last two pictures. Please be gentle with our state fish🐟
they do not grow very fast which is why they aren't typically stocked so it was very exciting for me to catch one. Brookies will live anywhere for 7-15 years so maybe he will be there when I return next year if all us anglers are respectful to the species🕊️
